The Empty Cup
Once, there was a kind woman named Anaya. She was always the first to help others — staying late at work to cover for colleagues, listening to her friends’ problems for hours, and taking care of her family before herself.
But slowly, she began to feel exhausted. No matter how much she gave, it felt like she had nothing left. One day, her grandmother noticed her tired eyes and said:
"My dear, you cannot pour from an empty cup. Even a lamp cannot give light if it runs out of oil."
That night, Anaya decided to do something different. She spent an hour reading her favorite book, took a long walk under the stars, and finally slept early. The next day, she felt lighter, calmer, and surprisingly — more capable of helping others with joy.
From then on, she learned that self-care is not selfish — it’s essential. By filling her own cup first, she could give to others without losing herself.

Moral: "You deserve the same love and care you so freely give to others. Taking time for yourself is not neglect — it’s nourishment".
Self-care is not about being selfish, it is about survival, strength, and balance. Just like a cup must be filled before it can overflow, or a lamp must have oil before it can shine, you must take care of yourself before you can truly care for others.
When you constantly give without refilling your own energy, you end up feeling drained, resentful, and empty. But when you rest, heal, and nurture yourself — whether through sleep, hobbies, exercise, or quiet reflection — you recharge your mind, body, and spirit.
Only then can you give your best to your family, friends, work, and the world.
"Self-care is the foundation of self-love, and self-love is the foundation of a meaningful life"
